Tropical Helicopters was started with the dream of president and owner, Calvin Dorn.  The corporation was started in 1997, and really started flying in 1998.  In January 1999 we bought the corporation and began to do business as (DBA) Tropical Helicopters.

We started with one helicopter at the Hilo International Airport.  With hard work our company has grown, flying 3 more helicopters and even adding a new Kailua-Kona location in 2001!
